Top 10 Courses in Wisconsin I’ve Played

Wisconsin has arguably the best public golf of any state in the Midwest.  Folks in Michigan will say that their public course lineup is better.  I’d contend that it may be deeper, but it is very difficult to beat the top-heavy quality of the Kohler courses (which I haven’t played yet), Erin Hills, and now the two “mammoth” scale resort courses at Sand Valley.  Here’s my Top 10 List of the Wisconsin courses I’ve played:

  1. Sand Valley Golf Resort (Mammoth Dunes) – Nekoosa, WI
  2. Erin Hills Golf Club – Hartford, WI
  3. Sand Valley Golf Resort (Sand Valley) – Nekoosa, WI
  4. Sentryworld Golf Club – Stevens Point, WI
  5. University Ridge – Verona, WI
  6. The Golf Courses of Lawsonia (Links) – Green Lake, WI
  7. The Bull at Pinehurst Farms – Sheboygan Falls, WI
  8. Wild Rock Golf Club – Wisconsin Dells, WI
  9. West Bend Country Club – West Bend, WI
  10. Troy Burne Golf Club – Hudson, WI

Honorable Mention: Geneva National Golf Club (Palmer) – Lake Geneva, WI, Geneva National (Player), Grand Geneva Resort & Spa (The Brute), & Geneva National Golf Club (Trevino) – Lake Geneva, WI
